How do you clean an outdoor fabric?

You should always clean your outdoor fabrics thoroughly when you take them out of storage at the beginning of the season and when you put them back into storage at the end of the season. Proper cleaning and storage will ensure they look as new as the day you bought them! Always check the fabric care labels before washing your outdoor textiles and hand wash if necessary. Stains should always be dealt with immediately: Damp stains can be soaked up with a dry, soft cloth. For heavier stains, a stain remover or diluted detergent can also be applied to a stain with lukewarm water. For more stubborn stains, you can work in the washing solution with a soft brush. Leave the mixture to work for about 20 minutes and then rinse the cover with clear water or put it in the washing machine. Air dry the fabrics gently afterwards - they could shrink in the dryer!

How do you care for outdoor table linen?

Outdoor table linen is coated - this makes it wipeable with a damp cloth and stain-resistant. Liquids roll off the coating and are quickly removed with an absorbent cloth. In the case of viscous or greasy stains, you should first remove the coarser dirt and then treat with a damp cloth. Take care not to rub the stain into the fibers. Dried stains can be washed in the washing machine with mild detergent. Due to the stain-repellent coating, it is sufficient to keep the detergent dosage low. Also, do not add fabric softener or bleach and, if possible, do not spin or spin at low speed. The material can be ironed at a medium temperature.

Our tip

Ironing with steam refreshes the stain-repellent coating. This keeps the effect for a long time.

How do you care for outdoor cushions?

Decorative cushions are an important accessory and create a cozy atmosphere or set style accents. In everyday catering life, cushions can quickly get dirty. With removable covers, they can often be washed in the washing machine at up to 30°C. However, you should avoid using the tumble dryer, as the covers could shrink and then no longer fit on the cushion. Instead, hang the covers to air dry.

  • machine washable up to 30°C
  • do not tumble dry
  • do not bleach
  • do not dry clean
  • do not iron
Our tip

If cushions are always in the sun, they should be turned from time to time. This will prevent one-sided fading.

How do you care for outdoor seat cushions?

Chair cushions in particular are used regularly and therefore need to be cleaned frequently. For basic cleaning, put the cushion covers in the washing machine and wash them according to the instructions using a mild detergent at a low temperature. Do not wash the foam inner part of the cushion as this can cause mold to form. If your pillowcases are not removable, you can treat them with water and a little detergent. Brush the solution into the cushion and then wipe the cushion with a damp cloth. Make sure that the cushion can dry completely - preferably in a well-ventilated area!

  • covers are machine washable
  • do not tumble dry
Our tip

Cover the cushions just before the cover is completely dry - that way it will keep its shape!

How do you clean an outdoor rug?

As an outdoor rug was developed for outdoor use, it is very weather-resistant and easy to care for. Nevertheless, you should pay attention to proper cleaning and care so that it remains beautiful for as long as possible. Even if the materials can withstand moisture, you should make sure that your outdoor rug is not permanently wet. Rain showers are not a problem for an outdoor rug, but waterlogging should be avoided at all costs. Therefore, make sure that the water can drain away. After cleaning or heavy rain, it is therefore advisable to hang the outdoor rug up to dry. Light soiling should be removed immediately - either with a vacuum cleaner or a cloth. Quick cleaning is therefore no different here than indoors. For more stubborn stains, the outdoor carpet can be hosed down with water and scrubbed with a broom. This will not damage the fibers, as they are tear-resistant and stable. Make sure you clean both sides of the rug. Small rugs can even be put in the washing machine with a mild detergent. In winter, outdoor rugs should be stored in a dry place.

  • washable up to 30°C
  • do not bleach
  • do not tumble dry
Our tip

You can also lay out the carpet in the entrance area or stairwell in winter - this way you don't need any storage space and the carpet can be used sensibly all year round.
