From design to shoe

It's a long way from the first design to the finished shoe! Because many things have to be taken into account: Design, materials, specifics of the industry and quality.

1. Design & material selection

What must a professional shoe be able to do? And what should it look like? That's what we determine first. We get inspiration at trade and fashion fairs, but also in everyday gastronomy throughout Europe. On this basis, we select materials and details for our shoes. So that you and your employees are optimally protected at work and feel completely comfortable.

2. Industry specific details

Slip resistance, ergonomics, protection against falling objects: All these details are central to the production of our shoes. Added to this are our high standards for processing, materials, functionality and care properties. After all, our shoes have to pass a tough test: use in everyday working life.

There's functionality in it!

Functions of the professional shoes

Aluminum toe cap

In some areas of the catering industry it is useful to wear shoes with protective toe caps. For the Performance Pro and Trainer Pro models, we use protective aluminum toe caps. This protects your feet from impacts and falling objects.

OrthoLite® insole

Many of our shoes are equipped with an OrthoLite® insole. This gives the shoe an anatomical footbed. This supports the arch of the foot, has a shock-absorbing effect in the heel area and provides a massage effect in the forefoot. In short: the perfect support for a long working day!

EVA sole

In many of our shoes we use a midsole made of EVA - short for ethylene vinyl acetate. This material is dimensionally stable, light and very resilient and therefore has a particularly shock-absorbing effect. So you benefit even when standing for long periods of time.

Coolmax® inner lining

Our Sneaker Breeze is perfectly adapted to the use in kitchen and service. The special Coolmax® material is breathable, wicks moisture away quickly and dries fast. Thus, it is ideally suited for shoe linings and guarantees you a comfortable feeling.

3. Put through its paces

Shoes quality tests

Even before the shoe is created, the individual components are rigorously tested. This allows us to simulate a long service life in a short time. Particular attention is paid to the soles: A fatigue bending testing machine tests the soles for durability and wear. Once all materials have been satisfactorily tested, sample shoes are made. These then go through another one or two rounds of sampling. Here we check all product details once again and have the shoes certified according to the EN ISO 20345:2011 or EN ISO 20347:2012 standards. Only when everyone is satisfied does the shoe go into production. This is the only way you and your employees can be completely safe and enjoy your shoes for a long time!

Our tip

To ensure that your shoes accompany you for a long time in your everyday working life, you should care for them regularly! How to do this properly, we tell you in our shoe care guide.
