Tassen Mixor von VEGA

Cups for catering in all shapes, colors & materials.

Tassen Mixor von VEGA

Tea circulated in the first cups: around 1610 AD, merchants from China brought tea and porcelain cups to Europe. Europeans tried their hand at making porcelain cups themselves, but could not match the Chinese in terms of quality. Hot water usually caused the German vessels to crack. It was not until the founding of the Meissen Porcelain Manufactory in 1710 that Europeans managed to produce high-quality cups.

Today, the cup is present in every household and in gastronomy - and it is hard to imagine life without it. It is available in numerous shapes, colors and materials and is part of the basic equipment of every café. But also all other gastronomic businesses need cups. Whether hotel, restaurant, caterer or café - LUSINI offers cups that convince with many different designs and high quality.

Our service

Don't be annoyed if a cup shatters! On many porcelain series we offer you a multi-year availability guarantee.

Buy porcelain, bone china, stoneware or enamel cups online

Smooth porcelain, cool enamel or textured stoneware - both look and feel play a role in choosing the right tableware material. Choose from a wide variety of designs for your café, breakfast joint or restaurant: our cups are made of classic porcelain, high-quality bone china porcelain, individual stoneware or durable enamel:

  • Porcelain: The most durable and finest type of ceramic is made of white clay, quartz and feldspar and is the most popular material for cups.
  • Bone china: Bone china porcelain is the noblest type of porcelain and is slightly translucent. It gets its special properties from animal bone ash.
  • Stoneware: Cups made of stoneware have no pores and are very resistant to breakage. Therefore, they are well suited for catering.
  • Enamel: For the production of enamel, glass is combined with iron in the furnace. Therefore, this material is recyclable in scrap metal. Enamel has many other advantages such as great heat resistance, scratch resistance and aroma neutrality.
  • Tempered glass: Tempered glass, as the name implies, is very hard and therefore resistant to breakage and impact. The high refractive index makes tempered glass look like crystal, so it is characterized by high brilliance. Although tempered glass cups are very robust, they weigh less than equivalent cups made of porcelain.

Cappuccino cup, coffee cup & more: the versatile range from LUSINI.

A bulbous latte, fragrant tea from delicate tea cups or a steaming espresso in a porcelain thimble - serve your hot beverages from cups that suit you and your catering concept. Depending on the offer of your gastronomic establishment, you will need different cups:

  • Espresso cup:
They are very small and thick-walled, so that the espresso does not cool down so quickly and the bitter taste comes out.
  • Coffee cup:
Coffee cup comes in different shapes and sizes.
  • Cappuccino cup: This cup needs to be able to hold more milk foam, so it is taller and wider than a coffee cup.
  • Coffee mug:
It is taller than a coffee cup and has a larger capacity.
  • Tea cup:
The tea cup is smaller, shallower and wider than the coffee cup. You can recognize a tea bowl by the lack of a handle. It is designed for Japanese teas.
  • Soup cup:
It has two handles and is larger than a coffee cup.

Setting the table with cups: Are saucers necessary or dispensable?

The table setting acts as a business card for your catering business: if you set cups, saucers and cake plates directly, tradition and etiquette are important to you. If you serve hot drinks in cups or soft drinks in glasses, depending on the order, this shows that you have a varied drinks menu and a large selection.

Whether you serve saucers with your coffee and tea cups in this case is entirely up to you. The argument against this is that you have an extra piece to wash up and you need a place to put it. However, saucers are not only decorative, but also provide a protection of the tablecloth from coffee or tea edges. In addition, they provide a shelf for sweets and the coffee spoon, and your service staff will be easier to serve, because they will not burn themselves on the hot liquid.

Our tip

You can easily remove unsightly marks on your dishes caused by tea and coffee. To do this, dissolve tooth-cleaning tablets or baking soda in hot water and soak the cup or saucer in it overnight.
